Corteo, "cortege" in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown.
The show combines the passion of the actors with the elegance and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical and mysterious world, somewhere between heaven and earth, that mixes fun, comedy and spontaneity.
The clown represents his own funeral, taking place in a carnival atmosphere, while a guardian angel watching in silence.
Through a mix of large and small, the ridiculous and the tragic and the magic of perfection and charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the clown and as his wisdom and gentleness to illustrate that portion of humanity that resides within us all.
The music, lyrical and playful on, carries Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.
Corteo's music is quite an intimate experience thanks to the warm surround sound of the instruments and vocal interpretation.
The melodies, with his European sensibility, are complemented by the exquisite lyric poetry sung in Italian, French, English or any language imaginable.
The production of this album was made possible by the contributions of 61 musicians and singers, including a 16-member choir and a chamber string of 13 instruments.
